Shopping for lingerie for your boudoir session can seem daunting. Their are so many styles, confusing sizes, fits and brands it can be overwhelming for women who don’t normally buy lingerie outside of comfortable everyday wear. But no worries, I am here to help add clarity – It’s time to find some sexy pieces to bring out your most iconic + powerhouse self.
Finding your fit
It’s been estimated that 2/3s of women are wearing the wrong bra size. What is important in choosing lingerie is that it fits well & embraces your body. Making sure you are wearing/buying the right size bra is crucial – the last thing you want to deal with during your session is unnecessary bulging, pinching, or squishing. So finding your perfect fit is a must. I recommend going to a specialty lingerie boutique for this or to Nordstrom. I do not recommend Victoria’s secret for bra fitting – they have their own sizing system and it is often inconsistent with a limited range of sizing.
Discovering your style
Most important step of all is figuring out what style you feel your sexiest. Soft feminine lacy pieces, strappy black sets, the full ensemble with a garter belt, thigh highs and stilettos… Determine the style you are going for and shop accordingly. We will discuss this in more detail in our pre-shoot consultation and I can help create pinterest board of styles for you based on what you tell me.
